Commercial Recycling:
The Recycling Center in Opelousas provides recycling containers to businesses throughout St. Landry Parish for a monthly charge of $15.00 per month. Recycling of cardboard and other fibers by businesses significantly offsets traditional waste collection costs.
A request for bin placement should be made to Leonard Wilson at (337)942-9576. Any business wishing to recycle may also elect to deliver their materials to either recycling center. (Opelousas or Eunice)
Commercial Permits:
In order to ensure that only waste generated in St. Landry Parish is delivered to the landfill, permits are required by any contractor or individual doing work for residents or businesses in St. Landry Parish.
Permits are FREE and may be obtained by calling the permit officer at 337-945-3662. The permit officer will physically go on-site to verify the waste and issue a permit.
**A 24-hour notice is required for permits to be issued.
Roll off Container Prohibited Items:
Please see the attached Flyer for the items that are prohibited in roll off containers that will be brought to the landfill. All roll off containers will need a permit from our Permit Officer before entry into the landfill is granted. Any prohibited items found in the roll off container will be sent back in the container and will be the resident or contractor's responsibility to properly dispose of the prohibited items.
